Response to Course Material (2/10)

The first thing we worked on after finishing "Hamlet" was multiple choice practice.  I am happy to report that I did better this time than last time!  However, I still feel my biggest hurdle for multiple choice is reading fast while understanding what is going on.  I can skim a piece quick enough, but skimming doesn't really highlight DIDLS and what not that way.  Basically I just want a mini Ms. Holmes in my pocket to point out what important for me.
We did start "Rosentcrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" but you guys didn't wait for me while I was at camp so jumping in at the end is proving difficult.  Right now it's a bunch of nonsense back and forth.  Not too much to report on this!

  1. I love the mini Ms. Holmes idea, and I totally agree with that. I think, like you said, timing is a big issue especially for what the questions will be asking. I have tried underlining while reading and the helps a little bit. I suggest that you try it out! R & G is definitely a hard piece of work, and even being there the whole book I still had some trouble with it.

  2. Nice job with this. The only suggestion I have is too add a little bit about Hamlet and the various adaptations we watched it class. Which one did you prefer? Which one was the most helped the most to understand the play? Overall nice job and adding this will make your post all the stronger!!

  3. Those multiple choice questions sure are tough! That's why I appreciate Ms Holmes giving us the time to do some in-class, with-a-group practice with those. They seem really similar to SAT or ACT reading questions, which require lots of practice to get good at. So I suggest practicing with an AP book.

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern turned out to be a play with a lot of spots that Ms Holmes had to stop and explain. I'm sure watching the movie and listening to discussion helped though. Good job with your response!
